5.1 Stakeholders
The stakeholders in any project to integrate Reference Management tools into a learning environment will vary depending on how responsibilities are allocated within an institution. Although practices may vary across institutions it is likely that those responsible for, or involved in, the following areas of activity will be key stakeholders:
- Use of teaching materials, resources and services to learn (e.g. students)
- Creation of teaching materials (e.g. academic staff)
- Provision of information literacy training (e.g. library)
- Provision of and support for reference management software including any related training (e.g. library)
- Provision of physical and online resources to support teaching and learning (e.g. library)
- Provision and development of a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) or similar software intended to support teaching and learning (e.g. IT services)
- Support for users of a VLE or similar software, including staff and students (e.g. learning support services, IT services)
- Provision and development of ePortfolio software (e.g. IT services)
- Support for users of ePortfolio software (e.g. learning support services, IT services)
- Creation and management of resource or reading lists for courses or modules (e.g. administrators, library)
As well as internal stakeholders, the wider HE community and suppliers of relevant software or services should also be considered.
