Additional Comments:
Bookplate of a Doctor Sibbald with motto 'Ora et Labora' pasted in.
The identification of Dr Sibbald as the reader who created the ms notes is tentative. The date at which the book entered the Dunimarle Library is unknown but must be after 1821 (the publication date of v.2) and before 1872 when the youngest member of the family, Magdelene Sharpe-Erskine died. The most active book collector was her younger brother John Drummond Erskine (died 1836) but she also added to the collection. Neither were medically trained.
