Additional Comments:

Letter from Eliza Ellis to Hannah Lucas. Ellis was almost certainly reading the 1846 edition of Foster's Life and Correspondence, as this was the only one in print at the time. It is possible that the book may have been in her father's extensive private library, to which she had access.
