Reynolds read some of Keats’ Sonnets including “On first looking into Chapman’s Homer” and others written to or about various members of the Reynolds family and their cat. Violet Clough read some more sonnets and a discussion followed on the great Sonnet writers of the English language of whom Keats had certainly been one. Among the others mentioned was Matthew Arnold and it was suggested that he would make an excellent subject for a future meeting.
