Stephen Duck's self-education by mutual improvement, as recorded by Joseph Spence in 'A Full and Authentick Account of Stephen Duck' (1731): "'He had one Dear Friend [...] They used to Talk and Read together [...] they sometimes studied their Arithmetick together.
